DESCRIPTION
Base Coats are a setting type jointing compound that provides superior tape adhesion and joint strength. They are used for the first and second coat in a three-coat jointing system, along with jointing tapes. Base Coats are available in powder form and are mixed with water to a workable paste.
Scope of Applications
Base Coat is used for the tape coat and second coat in a three-coat plasterboard jointing system, suitable for bedding in the jointing tape before application of a topping coat.To achieve the ultimate joint finish, it is recommended Base Coat is used in conjunction with Topping or All-Purpose compounds.
Easy to scrape and apply
Smooth spreading with minimal effort. Works well by hand or machine. Reduces labor time and boosts efficiency on large-scale projects.
Good sanding performance
Sands easily without clogging paper or leaving scratches. Fine, uniform dust enables fast surface preparation and minimizes rework.
High bonding strength
Strong adhesion to concrete, block, and plasterboard. Resists delamination and hollowing. Reliable for tile, leveling, and repairs.
